Pan-African Parliament, AU Commission departments to improve cooperation
Addis Ababa, March 12, 2013 (WIC) - A five day Workshop on the Alignment of Pan-African Parliament Permanent Committee and the African Union Commission departments opened on Monday in Addis Ababa.
The workshop is designed to contribute and gather information that would serve to improve the framework of cooperation between Pan-African Parliament Committee and the African Union Commission departments.
Opening the workshop, Bethel Amandi, president of the Pan African Parliament said besides strengthening the advisory and consultative work, Pan-African Parliament needs to exercise its full legislative power which is its ultimate aim to keep the interest of the African people.
Peace and security, political affairs, infrastructure and energy, trade and industry, science and technology, and economic affairs are among consolidating frameworks for coordination of the activities of the Permanent Committee of the Pan-African Parliament.
According to ENA, the Pan-African Parliament was established in 2004.
