Addis Ababa, March 11 (WIC) - Asela-Bale Goba Asphalt road is open to traffic as of Sunday 10 March, 2013. The road is 247 kilometers long and it took over 2 billion birr to construct it.

Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn inaugurated the road with Chief of Oromia Regional State Alemayehu Atomsa.

The Premier said his country has achieved a lot in road construction and such constructions are happening to realize the road connectivity scheme architected in the GTP.

The road has a bigger role to fuel business and tourism as Bale is rich in natural beauties, agricultural business and a lot more.

The road helps to make Bale-Shashemene travel a 3 hour journey as opposed to over a half day journey earlier.
