Dire Dawa registers 147,731 voters

Dire Dawa, February 19 (WIC) – Branch office of the Dire Dawa Electoral Board said it has registered 147,731 voters for the upcoming election due to be held by the coming April.

Office Coordinator, Gini Reshid, said some 73, 557 of the registered voters are women.

The election would be held in 151 urban and 79 rural election centers, she said.

According to Gini, contesting political parties have made great efforts to increase women’s participation in the election.
