30 million voters registered for elections

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2013 (WIC) - National Electoral Board of Ethiopia officially announced it has registered nearly 30 million voters for the elections to be held in May 2013.

Besides, the Board discloses there will be special voter registration on Friday and Saturday this week considering there will be individuals who don’t get registered for reasons beyond their control.

Over all so far 15,648,289 men and 14,257,229 women are registered being legible to cast their votes for candidates of their choice.

Oromia got 10.4 million, Amhara over 7 million, South State 5.1 million and Somale and Tigrai registered over 2 million voters on their list.

The elections are scheduled to happen on May 14 and 21 this year per time table of the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia.( ERTA)
