Natives of Somali State urged to assist dev’t, good governance activities
Jijjiga, December 31 (WIC) –The Ethiopian Somali People’s Democratic Party (ESPDP) has called on natives of the Somali State at various universities to take part in the peace, development and good governance activities of the state.
The remark came here today at a program organized to welcome natives of the regional state’s students who joined the Jijjiga University this academic year.
“Natives of the state at higher learning institutions need to contribute their share in the peace, development and good governance endeavors of the region,” ESPDP Office Head, Ibrahim Muhammud said.
According to Ibrahim, remarkable development changes have been registered in the state during the past years as the equality of nations and nationalities was guaranteed by the Constitution.
Several students from the pastoral community are currently attending education in various higher learning institutions as they get ample educational opportunities, he said.
President of Jijjiga University, Dr Abdunasir Ahmed, on his part said the university has enrolled 550 new students native to the state this academic year.
