Addis Ababa, December 12 (WIC)–The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) said it has provided social services for over 61,000 people during the past five months.
MoLSA Communication Directorate Director, Girma Sheleme, told WIC the service was offered for elders, children and persons with disabilities (PwDs).
Finance and material support as well as physiotherapy treatment were among the services that the ministry offered in the reported period, he said.
Girma further said the ministry in partnership with regional offices is working to prevent illegal human trafficking, which is one of the causes of social problems.
As part of the efforts to prevent illegal human trafficking, the ministry envisaged providing awareness raising training for over 1.1 million people this budget year, he said.
According to Girma, the ministry managed to provide the training for 359,728 people during the past five months.
