Trade exhibition, bazaar kicks off in Bahirdar town

Addis Ababa, December 6 (WIC) - Trade exhibition and bazaar kicked off on Wednesday in Bahirdar town of Amhara State in connection with the 7th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day.

The trade exhibition and bazaar brought together some 102 small and micro enterprises as well as over 150 medium and higher trade organizations from all the regional states and city administrations.

Opening the trade exhibition and bazaar, Head of Trade and Transport Bureau of Amhara State, Tesfaye Getachew, said the event would facilitate experience sharing on culture, production and technology transfer among nations, nationalities and peoples, thereby strengthening their relations and unity.

Deputy Chief of Amhara State and Head of Industry and Urban Development, Ahmed Abitew on his part said the trade exhibition and bazaar is significant in contributing to the achievement of the Growth and Transformation Plan as it creates ties among the nation’s small and micro enterprises.

It also connects customers with producers directly, enabling customers to get commodities at fair price, he said. Ahmed said the government has attached due attention to the trade sector and is implementing improvements that would enable to address limitations. (ERTA)
