Addis Ababa, November 26/2012 (WIC) - Religious institutions play significant role in the fight against corruption, the Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission said. Speaking at a relevant discussion forum in Adama Town, Oromia State on Saturday.
Commissioner Ali Suleiman said creating morally sound citizens significantly contributes in the fight against corruption.
In particular religious institutions give prime attention to issues related to ethics, Ali said, adding, the commission has put in place a system enabling to work in collaboration with the institutions to maintain good governance across the country.
According to ENA, he said the institutions have so far carried out successful activities in the fight against corruption through creating awareness among followers of different religions. Religious leaders, who took part in the forum, on their parts said that the institutions will work in collaboration with stakeholders in the efforts to prevent corruption.
