Gambella town to mark its 100th founding anniversary

Gambella, August 10 (WIC)–Preparations are underway to celebrate the 100th founding anniversary of the Gambella town with various events.

Mayor of the town, Boll Ket, told WIC the anniversary will be celebrated from with August 31st to September 2, 2012 with exhibitions and panel discussions.

According to Boll, Gambella town has become an attractive investment destination for several developmental investors following the prevailing durable peace and favorable investment policies.

The town has also made a rapid advance in infrastructure such as service and hotels, road, telecommunication and electricity sectors, the mayor said.

Residents of the town, including invited guests from the neighboring Oromia and SNNP states are expected to add color for the celebration, it was learnt.
