Bureau obtains over 496 mln. birr revenue from tourism

Addis Ababa, July 28, 2012 (WIC) - The Oromia State Culture and Tourism Bureau said it has secured over 496 million birr revenue from various services rendered to customers in the just-ended budget year.

Bureau Head Mohammed Jilo told ENA that the stated revenue excelled last year’s same period sum by 478 million birr.

He said the sum was obtained from services including conference tourism and recreation.

According to him, the bureau has offered trainings to 200 private institutions engaged in the tourism sector with a view to enhancing the revenue generated from the sector.

According to ENA. the head attributed the bumper revenue to provision of intensive awareness education and coordinated promotional activities.
