Muslims denounce mutinous acts of groups under banner of Islam
Addis Ababa, July 18 (WIC) - Some Muslim residents in Addis Ababa City said they have saddened by the subversive acts of a group under the banner of Islam.
They told ENA on Tuesday that the riot orchestrated in Awolia and Anwar Grand Mosques were indications of extremism and is unquestionably unacceptable by the teachings and doctrines of Islam.
Accordingly, they said the activities were intended to mar the positive image of Ethiopia that has won international community recognition for religious tolerance and peaceful-coexistence of its people.
The faithful said religious disputes among the Muslim community should be resolved peacefully in line with the teachings of the Islam.
They said riotous groups should refrain from imposing their own belief and philosophy which is intolerable.
According to them, the Muslim Community could solve religious matters by its own.
They said parents are responsible to protect their children from being engaged in such devastating instigation and manipulation of reactionary elements.
