Hailemariam confers with 3 higher level officials

Addis Ababa, July 14 (WIC) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Hailemariam Dessalegn here on Friday held bilateral talks with three higher level officials.

Hailemariam held talks with European External Action Service Managing Director, Nick Westcott on ways to further boost the cooperation between Ethiopia and the European Union (EU).

On the occasion he expressed Ethiopia’s desire to strengthen the existing cooperation with EU.

The Director on his part affirmed EU’s commitment to continue support towards success of the ongoing development activities being undertaken in the country. Similarly, Hailemariam has conferred with Indian External Affairs Vice-Minister, P.S. Raghavan on bilateral relation between Ethiopia and India.

He expressed Ethiopia's desire to boost the existing cooperation with India in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure and education, among others.

The Deputy PM said Ethiopia is keen to work in collaboration with India in huge infrastructure development activities, like railway system and hydroelectric power generation, among others.

Hailemariam also expressed Ethiopia's desire to further boost the longstanding bilateral relation with Finland during talks with Foreign Affairs Minister of Finland, Erkki Toumioja.

The two sides discussed on ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Ethiopia and Finland in particular in water resource development, according to a higher level government official, who attend the discussion. (ENA)
