Minister calls on women to further strengthen commendable results registered in all sectors

Addis Ababa, June 18 , 2012 ( WIC) -Women, Children and Youth Affairs Minister, Zenebu Tadesse called on women in Tigray State to further strengthen the commendable results so far registered in all sectors.

Speaking at the opening of a relevant conference in Mekelle Town of the state over the weekend Zenebu stressed the need to further expand such results to other areas.

Zenebu lauded support of executives at al levels towards ensuring the benefits and participation of women in development activities.

She said the women are also undertaking inspiring activities towards achieving the ongoing efforts to curb poverty.

Head of the state's women's affairs bureau, Aregash Beyene on her part said efforts of women in the state is growing from time to time to ensure their participation and benefits.

Aregash said women have carried out commendable activities in all development sectors in particular in natural resource conservation.

She said women have managed to ensure their benefits through engaging in irrigation development, micro and small-scale enterprises , among others.

Encouraging activities were carried out during the last nine months in the health, education and agriculture sector, as ENA reported.
