Agency issues license to 51,891 projects

Addis Ababa, June 3 (WIC) – The Ethiopian Investment Agency (EIA) disclosed that it has issued licenses to 51,891 projects during the last 21 years.

 

Agency Research and Promotion Directorate Director, Aklilu Woldemariam, told WIC the projects are mainly of agriculture, manufacturing as well as hotel and tourism, among others.

 

He said the projects have created jobs for million of Ethiopians.

 

Investment flow to Ethiopia is increasing from time to time due to the various incentives and favorable investment policies put in place by the government.

 

He said the agency issued licenses to 46, 248 investors during the past 10 years, of whom the majority are Ethiopians and foreign nationals of Ethiopian origin.
