Ethiopians in Djibouti mark Victory of May 28
Addis Ababa, June 2, 2012 (WIC) - 21st anniversary of the victory of May 28 has been celebrated in Djibouti in the presence of the country’s Prime Minister, Daleta Mohammed with various assortments.
The Day was celebrated under the motto “May 28 is the foundation of our renaissance; the Grand Renaissance Dam is a token of our unity”.
Speaking on the occasion, Ethiopian ambassador plenipotentiary to Djibouti, Suleiman Dedefo said the ongoing speedy economic growth in Ethiopia is has its basis in the victory of May 28.
Members of the Ethiopian community in Djibouti on the occasion pledged to support the realization of the Grand Renaissance Dam and other development activities back home.
Similarly, employees of the Ministry of Mines marked May 28 on Wednesday with a panel discussion.
On the occasion, Minister of Mines, Sinknesh Ejigu said $809 million earning is expected from the sector in the current budget year.
Likewise, employees of institutions under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture commemorated May 28 on Wednesday.
The employees on the occasion renewed their commitment to capitalize on the remarkable achievements gained so far in the implementation of the five year Growth and Transformation Plan.
Addressing the gathering, Minister of Agriculture, Tefera Deribew the Day should be an occasion on which employees of the ministry renew their promise to extricate the nation from poverty, AS ERTA reported.
