National human rights draft action plan tabled for discussion
Addis Ababa, May 15 (WIC) - National human rights draft action plan which is said to be the first of its kind for the nation was tabled for discussion on Monday.
A national consultation forum aimed at enriching the draft was held in Addis Ababa. The action plan would help a better implementation of basic rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution, it was noted.
Chairperson of the committee for the action plan and Minister of Justice, Berhan Hailu said on the occasion the action plan has considered the situation of the country and came up with a way forward. The draft would be an action plan that the nation would use after enriched and ratified, he said
Higher officials from the federal and regional governments and other stakeholders participated in the consultation forum.
