Nation reaps 218 mln qtls agricultural output this season

Addis Ababa, May 8 (WIC) - Ethiopia reaps 218 million quintals of agricultural produce from small holder farmers in the current harvest season.

According to Central Statistics Agency, the stated volume of harvest was reaped from 12 million hectares of land covered with crops.

Agency Director General, Samia Zekaria, said the amount harvested this season has shown a 15 million quintals increase compared to the previous year.

Samia attributed the increase to the improved utilization of agricultural inputs by smallholder farmers.
