Journalists Urged to Disseminate Timely Information about Science and Technology

Addis Ababa, February 15, 2012 (WIC) - The Ministry of Science and Technology called on journalists to contribute their share in dissemination of information concerning science and technology in the country thereby help develop the sector.

Addressing a half-day workshop awareness raising program that got underway here on Tuesday, Public Relations Head withy the Ministry Mustefa Abdusemed said unless strong national technological capacity is built, the economic development could not be sustainable.

He said efforts are being made to make science and technology sector support the national economic development.

Mustefa stressed the need for journalists to contribute their share in disseminating timely and correct information to the public about technological inventions and innovations which are instrumental for the development of the economy.

According to ENA, journalists drawn from among nine regions and two city administrations took part the workshop.
