Addis Ababa, July 11, 2016 (WIC) –The Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) of Ethiopia and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) have yesterday concluded an agreement that enables the latter to build the first phase of Adama industrial park at a cost o of 125 million US dollars.
Sisay Gemechu, CEO of Industrial Parks Development Corporation said the Chinese firm will commence the construction of the park as of next week. It will be concluded and handed over to investors in nine months time.
General Manager of CCECC, Allen Lee, noted that the park will be finalized as per scheduled by drawing valuable lessons from Hawassa industrial park. The Hawassa industrial park is being built by CCECC.
Lee also appreciated Ethiopia’s firm stance towards the development of industrial parks.
According to the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA), Adama industrial park will be erected on 100 hectares of land.
Ethiopian based firm, MH Engineering Plc, will take part as a consultant in the construction of the industrial park. (FBC)
