Ethiopia, European Union Sign 27 Million Euros Grant Agreement PDF Print E-mail

Addis Ababa, May 8, 2010 - Government of Ethiopia and European Union signed here on Saturday grant agreement amounting to 27.6 million Euros

 

The objectives of the grant are to implement agricultural marketing development through commodity markets, improve and integrate animal health services, promote women's empowerment and gender equality and strengthen the Federal Justice Organs Professionals Training Center.

 

Finance and Economic Development Minister, Sufian Ahmed and European Union Commissioner for Development, Andris Piebalgs signed the agreement.

 

The commissioner said on the occasion that European Union is pleased to support Government Policies in the two important focal sectors of their cooperation, agriculture and good governance.

 

He said that EU strongly support the reform agenda of the government to give a great role to the private sector.
