           Meles Zenawi

Addis Ababa, March 20 (WIC) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said the government has made all the necessary preparations so as to prevent the recurrence of the post election violence we had in 2005.

Meles told local and foreign journalists here on Thursday that his government has made the necessary preparations to wisely handle election-related violence.

The premier said there won’t be anyone who will support the unconstitutional move of political parties and anti peace forces striving to impede the peaceful conduct of the elections.

He added the people of Ethiopia are well aware of the negative consequences of violence.

Meles said the government will take appropriate legal measures against those who violate the law as it has the mandate to maintain peace and order in the country.
