Thursday, 18 February 2010

Mekele, February 18, 2010 (Mekele) - The Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) said its 35th founding anniversary is being celebrated in the aftermath of remarkable achievements registered in all development sectors.

In a statement it issued here on Wednesday in connection with its 35th founding anniversary, TPLF Central Committee said tangible change is being registered in all development sectors.

TPLF has been exerting utmost efforts in rural and urban parts of the country to minimize poverty following the victory registered in the 17 year armed struggle launched against the Derg Regime.

The efforts launched to lift out the country from abject poverty will continue to be strengthened.

The Central Committee also called up on the public to work with the Front to speed up development, ensure democracy and good governance.

It urged the public and members of TPLF to further intensify efforts to implement the agriculture led rural development policy effectively.

The statement said commendable change has been brought about in the sector of natural resource conservation and expansion of irrigation development.

Endurance of the public and TPLF to overthrow the Derg Regime played a significant role in the realization of existing democratic system in Ethiopia.

TPLF vows to stand on the side of the people in the efforts to realize the vision of the country.

Political analysts argue that little attention is given to the Horn of Africa both by the international community and developed countries. What do you say?
