68 kebeles elect public observers for upcoming national elections PDF Print E-mail

January 4, 2010 -- Election of public observers for the upcoming national elections was held on Sunday in 68 kebeles in Addis Ababa City Administration.

 

 

The elections were carried out for the second time in 58 kebeles as per the request of political parties.     

 

Political party representatives, election executives and the public in Gullele and Arada sub-cities told ENA that the election process was held without any problem.   Representative of All Ethiopian Unity Organization (AEUO) said the election process was held in peaceful manner in kebele 09/15 of Gullele sub-city.  

 

 EPRDF's representative in the stated kebele also said the election process was democratic and peaceful.  

 

 An EPRDF representative in kebele 17 of Arada sub-city on her part said the election process was held without any problem.She said election executives made the process fair and participatory.   The representative said there are 14 polling stations in the kebele. Public observers are elected in all kebeles.  

 

 Election executive committee coordinator, Kifle Tessema in the stated kebele on his part said the election process was held properly.   

 

 AEUO representative in kebele 17, Kelemework Adera said the public participated in the election process. 

 

   Representatives of Ethiopian Medhin Democratic Party (Medhin) , AEUO and EPRDF have observed the election process in kebele 01/02 of Arada sub city.  Representative of Medhin, Dingo Deme said the public actively participated in the election process.   

 

AEUO representative Lieutenant Habtemariam Habte said the process was free and accurate.  A resident, who took part in the election, Getachew Lemma also said the election process was participatory. (ENA)
