Over 95 mln birr worth dev’t activities underway in Kobo town

Desse, December 25 (WIC) – Various development activities are underway with over 95 million birr in Kobo town of the Amhara state, according to town administration.
Mayor of the town, Widu Abera, told WIC that the construction of potable water and irrigation development facilities is underway with the stated sum so as to accelerate the growth of the town. He said the Kobo Technical and Vocational Training Institution being built with 11 million birr is nearing completion. According to Widu, the institute will begin rendering service next academic year. The town also readied close to 60,000 square meters of industrial zone to investors as well as youth desirous to engage in micro and small scale enterprises, he indicated. Preparations are also underway to establish tomato and onion processing plants as well as build bank and hospital. |
