NNPD celebrated in Washington DC PDF Print E-mail

Addis Ababa, December 24 (Addis Ababa) - Nations', Nationalities' and Peoples' Day (NNPD) was celebrated in Washington DC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

 

 

According to a statement the Ministry sent to ENA on Wednesday, Chief of South Ethiopia Peoples' State, Shiferaw Shigute on the occasion said the Day is celebrated as it ensured human and democratic rights of the Ethiopian people. 

 

   Ethiopians and Ethiopian origins gathered at the Ethiopian embassy in Washington DC to celebrate the day.    In a related news, Shiferaw, who is on official visit in the US, also briefed the Ethiopians and Ethiopian origins on measures being taken to make the upcoming national election fair, free and democratic.    

 

Shiferaw on the occasion lauded participation of the Ethiopians and Ethiopian origins in investment activities   

 

He called on Ethiopians to contribute share in the efforts to extricate the country from poverty, the statement indicated.
