President Girma urges organizations to improve quality performance PDF Print E-mail

Addis Ababa, December 18 (WIC) - President Girma Woldegiorgis urged manufacturing and service organizations to improve their quality performance so as to be competent in the global economy and ensure sustainability of ongoing economic growth of the country.

 

President Girma made the remark here at a ceremony the Ethiopian Quality Award (EQA) organized to honor the Document Authentication and Registration Office, Harar Brewery Share Co and MIDROC Gold Mine Pvt. Ltd. Co. for their best quality performances.

 

Girma said on the occasion that organizations should fulfill customers demand as well as offer efficient service so as to be competent in the global economy. 

The prize would encourage organizations and it should be consolidated as it is vital for the industrial sector to grow, the president indicated.   

 

Girma said the conducive development policy and infrastructure facilities available in the country have attracted a several foreign investors to take part in various investment sectors.   

EQA Board Chairperson, Prof. Andreas Eshete, on his part said that sustainable development could be realized by improving quality performance and supplying quality products and services to customers.  Prof. Andreas further urged concerned bodies to develop the culture of providing national prize in literature, art and research sectors.    

 

EQA Board Secretary, Doctor Engineer Daniel Kitaw, said the award is aimed at promoting quality awareness and raising understanding of the requirements for business excellence.   

 

The secretary said the prize will enable manufacturing and service organizations to be competent at national and international levels.

   

 

EQA was established in January 2008 by the Addis Ababa University in collaboration with Walta Information Center to recognize organizational excellence in Ethiopia.
