Dire Dawa, December 12 (WIC) –
Students of higher learning institutions said the recently celebrated Nation’, Nationalities’, and Peoples’ Day (NNPD) will have a significant contribution in increasing the development involvement of the youth.

Some students told WIC in connection with this year's NNPD that the day will help the youth to consolidate their participation in the ongoing development, peace and democratization endeavors.

The day is unique as it ensured the development benefit and democratic rights of the youth in particular and the people of Ethiopia at large, the students indicated.

The students further said that the day will help them to improve and preserve their langue and culture as well as transfers them to the next generation.

The students finally vowed to discharge their responsibilities as well as work closely with the government so as to expedite development and extricate the country from poverty.

The fourth NNPD was marked colorfully in Dire Dawa administration at a national level on 8 December, 2009.
