Gondar, December 2 (WIC) – Chief Administrator of the Amhara State, Ayalew Gobeze, said developing resources that generate asset is crucial to bolster the multifaceted economic growth registered in the country over the past years.

 

Ayalew made the remark while opening a trade fair and bazaar organized in Gondar town in connection with the 29th founding anniversary of the Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM).   

 

He said developing resources will enable to ensure the sustainability of the all round socio-economic and political growth being registered in the state and the country.   

 

According to Ayalew, the state government has allocated 30 million birr in a bid to make Gondar town tourist destination.   

 

He finally called upon the public to actively participate in the telethon which Amhara Development Association (ADA) will organize to collect 400,000 million birr.     

 

Amhara State Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion Bureau Head, Kassa Teklebrihan, on his part said the event is aimed at acquiring inputs that help to expand the valuable experiences attained over the past 18 years besides bringing together producers and buyers.    

 

Similar trade fair and bazaar was held in Bahir Dar town for one week, he said.    

 

Mayor of Gondar town, Habtamu Genetu, on his part said some 220 enterprises and organizations drawn from Sudan and across the nation are taking part in the trade fair and bazaar.    

 

He said the event will help to promote the history, culture and tourism sectors of the town.    

 

MIDROC Ethiopia Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Arega Yirdaw, said the trade fair and bazaar will help MIDROC to expand its investment activities in the state.   

 

Representative of the business community from Sudan, Jaffar Ahmed Lin, said the event will further strengthen people -to -people relations of the two countries.    

  

The bazaar will stay open for eight consecutive days, it was learnt.
