Addis Ababa, November 25 (WIC) - The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) said it has begun providing training to heads of election center offices so as to make the upcoming national election free, fair and democratic.

Board Chairperson, Prof. Merga Bekana, said at the opening of the training here yesterday that the training will help to build capacity of heads of election center offices and make the upcoming election truthful.

Prof. Merga said office heads drawn from Tigray, Afar, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambella, Harari states as well as Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa administrations will take part at the five-day training.

Prof. Merga said similar training will be offered to election office heads of Oromia and SNNP states.

Participants of the training are confirmed to be independent, Prof. Merga indicated.
