UK donates 24 mln USD to support food assistance operations in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa November 20 (WIC) – The United Kingdom today donated 24 million USD to support the efforts of the government of Ethiopia and United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to provide food assistance to people in need of food aid.
According to a press release WFP sent to WIC, the fund will be utilized to distribute monthly food ration to 2.2 million people. “This contribution is highly appreciated,” said WFP Ethiopia Country Director Mohamed Diab.” Howard Taylor, Country Representative of the UK’s Department for International Development in Ethiopia said our contribution underlines the strong commitment of the government and the people of UK to efforts to improve life for the people of Ethiopia during a particular difficult time. |
