    Tafesse Holika

Addis Ababa, November 10 (WIC) – A political science scholar at the Addis Ababa University, Tafesse Holika,  said the joint electoral code of conduct and its implementation guideline agreement signed among the four political parties has opened a new chapter in the history of country’s politics.

In an exclusive interview with WIC, Tafesse said the agreement reached among EPRDF, AEUO, EDP and Kinijit has a significant political role in the history of the country.

He further said the accord would help to build Ethiopia’s political image.

According to Tafesse, if all political parties take part and abide by the agreement, they will get public trust in addition to strengthening unison among themselves.

He said in stead of following erroneous directions, political parties could contest peacefully in the upcoming election by resolving their problems through dialogue.

Tafesse added all political parties need to take active part in the development, democratic and peace endeavors underway in the country besides running for power.

The four political parties agreed on the joint electoral code of conduct and its implementation guideline on 30 October, 2009.

HAVE YOUR SAY

Eritrea is destabilizing the Horn of Africa. It has been fully sponsoring the terrorist groups in the region. Despite its negative roles in the Horn, the international community failed to take a tangible measure up on that country. Political analysts argue that little attention is given to the Horn of Africa both by the international community and developed countries. What do you say?
