Premier holds talks with Chinese, Egyptian officials PDF Print E-mail

Addis Ababa, November 10, 2009 - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi held separate discussions with Chinese and Egyptian leaders on bilateral concerns at Shermal el Sheik, Egypt.

 

China’s Development Bank has decided to open its liaison office in Ethiopia.

The premier held discussion with his Chinese and Egyptian counterparts and also the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.  

 

Meles also held discussion with Egyptian International Cooperation Minister, Fayza Abdoul Naga.

 

He said Ethiopia and China have plenty areas to further solidify their age long relations. 

 

Besides, wide range of cooperation with Africa, Meles said Ethiopia and China are closely working in infrastructure development, investment, telecommunication and other mutual benefits.

 

Both leaders said cooperation of the two countries is getting strengthened from time to time.  

 

Meles said the construction of Addis Ababa –Adama, Dukem Industry Zone and railway by the Chinese government are some of the manifestation for the strong relations of the two countries.

 

The two parties have agreed to materialize Ethiopia’s proposal on technology transfer as common plan which would further be developed in the future.  

 

The two leaders have also discussed on climate change.

 

Chinese climate change representative on the occasion said his country will support Africa’s concerns and work closely with the continent.  

 

The premier has also held discussion with deputy governor of China Development Bank.
