Asfaw holds talks with Korean Mission PDF Print E-mail

Addis Ababa, November 5 (WIC) – Water Resources Minister, Asfaw Dingamo, on Thursday held discussion with a high profile Mission led by Choi Heung-Ryul, Head of Social Development Department of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Head Quarter.

 

Asfaw on the occasion said that Ethiopia and the republic of Korea have a warm and historic relationship ever since Ethiopia sent its troops to the Korea in 1950s as a UN force.   

 

Ethiopia has a lot to learn from the development experience of the dynamic Korea in which they mange to secure sustainable development in all sectors including water resource development with in a short period of time.

 

The Minister added that Ethiopia is happy on the existing bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries and the relation will be further strengthened in various development sectors and technical cooperation including water resource development.

 

Choi Heung-Ryul, on his part said Ethiopia is endowed with vast natural resource including water resources and KOICA will be happy to share Korea’s technical know how on the water resource development sector.

 

KOICA Ethiopia Office Representative, Dr David InYeup SONG, on his part said KOICA has actively been engaged in cooperation development programs of water, education and health sectors in Ethiopia with a view to assisting the government of Ethiopia to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). 

 

The Mission also held discussion with Dilamo Otore, Head of the Addis Ababa Education Bureau.
