Spanish theatre play premiered here PDF Print E-mail

Addis Ababa, October 26 (WIC) - The first Spanish theatre play ever translated into Amharic, “Blood Weeding,” was premiered here today.

 

According to a press release Embassy of Spain sent to WIC, the theater was staged by the universal Spanish poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca.

 

  The aforementioned play is the result of the collaboration between the Embassy of Spain in Addis Ababa and the renowned Ethiopian poet and playwright, Ayalneh Mulatu, who translated himself Garcia Lorca’s book, and directed the play, it said. 

 

  The production features an unprecedented blend of the Spanish and Ethiopian cultures that will contribute to strengthen the cultural bonds between both countries, the release said.
