Turkish Ambassador commends Ethiopia’s democratization endeavors PDF Print E-mail

Addis Ababa, October 21 (WIC) – Turkish Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ali Riza Colak, said Ethiopia’s experience in building democracy could be a model to other African countries.

 

In an exclusive interview with WIC on Monday, Ambassador Colak, said the multi-party system put in place and the efforts being made to strengthen democracy is encouraging.    

 

Ambassador Colak indicated that the conducive atmosphere created for political parties to express their ideas testifies Ethiopia’s commitment to build democracy in the country.    

 

The Ambassador further said the efforts underway to strengthen multi-party system and ensure its sustainability are commendable.   

 

According to Ambassador Colak, strengthening democracy will help to speed up the ongoing economic growth of the country.     

 

Turkey's relation with Ethiopia is increasing from time to time and his country will continue supporting Ethiopia in various sectors.   

 

The Ambassador said the relations existed between the two countries will help Turkey boost its relation with other African countries as Ethiopia is the seat for African Union Commission (AUC).   

 

He said Ethiopia is playing a significant role in maintaining peace and security in the Horn of Africa.    

 

Ethiopia will be positioned at a good stage of economic growth soon as the country is registering remarkable growth amidst the current economic crisis owing to country’s leadership quality.
