Agency creates over 112,700 jobs PDF Print E-mail

Bahir Dar, May 8 (WIC)- The  Amhara state micro and small scale  trade and industry promotion agency announced that it has created jobs for over 112,700 youth.

 

Agency manager, Tesfaye Getachew told WIC that the agency created jobs for youth organized under 10,232 associations.   

 

Cobblestone production, textile, wood and metal work, construction and agriculture works are among the activities the youth are engaged in.   

 

The manager said that the  agency has attained 89 percent of its plan during the past nine months, while the number of  youth got jobs has shown  an over 40,700 increase from that of same time last year.   

 

The youth were provided with 92 million birr loan and 2.5 million square meters of production plot.   

 

Concerted efforts are being made to create jobs for 160,000 youth until the end of the current budget year, according to the manager.
