Addis Ababa, March 1 (WIC) - Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Assaf stressed the need to strengthen activities of Saudi Arabian investors engaged in the agriculture sector in Ethiopia with a view to building the existing trade and investment ties between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia on firm foundation.
A Saudi Arabian delegation led by the Minister here on Thursday held talks with Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn.
The Minister on the occasion said the Saudi Arabian government is keen to work closely with Ethiopia to further enhance existing relation in the trade and investment sectors.
He said said his government gives the necessary support to Saudi Arabian investors to help them engage in different sectors.
Dr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Assaf said efforts will be exerted to increase market share of agricultural export products of Ethiopia to Saudi Arabia.
The greement signed on avoidance of double taxation will help to further intensify bilateral relation between the two countries.
The Minister said most of the investors engaged in the agriculture sector in Ethiopia are Saudi Arabians.
PM Hailemariam on his part said the government will provide the necessary support to Saudi Arabian investors engaged in different activities in Ethiopia.
The Premier said their products have great market demand in the world and have managed to control market in the Middle East.
The two parties also discussed on ways to further enhance existing people-to-people relation, according to state minister, Getachew Reda, communication affairs advisor to the Premier. (ENA)
