Former Deputy Speaker Dr. Mohammed passes away at 60
Jijjiga, August 8 (WIC) – Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Federation (HoF) of Ethiopia, Dr. Mohammed Serhaye, has passed away at the age of 60.
Dr. Mohammed was born in 1944 EC, in Kebridehar, Somali regional state. He attended his primary and secondary education in Kebridhar and Harar towns, respectively.
Dr. Mohammed, who served as Deputy Speaker from 1987-2002 E.C, also earned his first degree from the former Soviet Union and his second and doctoral degrees from University of Oxford, England.
Present at the funeral ceremony of Dr. Mohammed held at Jijjiga town yesterday were Speaker of the HoF, Kassa Tekleberhan, Chief Administrator of Somali Regional State, Abdi Mohammed Umer and other higher government officials.
