Voting in presidential election extended to 3rd day
Addis Ababa, 28 May 2014 )WIC) - The High Elections Committee has decided to extend the voting process for a third day; till Wednesday 28/5/2014 due to the severe heat wave and that the voter turnout increases during the evening, saying “voting ends at 9 pm and it's difficult to further extend it to avoid exhausting judges.”
The committee also said that it has taken into consideration the demands of the out of governorate voters to allow them the time to travel to cast their votes.
Consequently, polling stations will suspend their work on Tuesday 27/5/2014 at 9 pm instead of 10 pm, as previously announced. However, if voters are present at polling stations, the committee will take their names and extend the voting process until they cast their ballots. (www.sis.gov.eg)
