City administration donates condo to GERD

Addis Ababa, 1 September 2014 (WIC) - The Addis Ababa City Administration donates three bed-room condominium house at Lideta Site to be used in raising fund through lottery draw in supporting the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
Speaking at a handing over ceremony Addis Ababa City Administration Deputy Mayor, Abate Sitotawu said GERD is expected to meaningfully contribute to the national growth in which every citizen, public and private organizations actively participate towards realization of the Dam, he added.
The government has set up a system which ensures wider involvement of the public in order to mobilize and coordinate participation for the construction of GERD. “Our support is not limited to this, we will continue our participation in all aspects,” he added.
Abate also said that strong dedication and commitment to support the construction of the dam through popular participation has tremendous contribution in the fight against poverty eradication.
Office of the National Council for Public Participation and Coordination for the Construction of GERD Deputy Head Zadig Abraha thanked the City Administration for the donation and requested all stakeholders to continue and sustain their participation through SMS lottery and to purchase bond for the construction of the Dam.
