NEBE making preparations for upcoming election

Addis Ababa, 29 August 2014 (WIC) – National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) said it is making preparations for the upcoming general elections.

NEBE deputy director general Wondimu Golla told WIC that the board has been providing awareness creation trainings for members of political parties, media professionals and experts drawn from civic societies and the justice system.

Wondimu said the training was focused on resolution of election related complaints and grievances. NEBE will soon start recruiting and training election executives, Wondimu added.

Ethiopian, which follows a parliamentary system, will conduct the fifth general elections in May 2015. The deputy director general said material preparations including voters’ cards are already underway.
