Addis Ababa, 26 August 2014 (WIC) -The Ministry of Civil Service (MoCS) highlighted the significance of providing services that satisfy the need of the public.

A capacity building training organized for heads at middle level positions was opened at the Civil Service University yesterday.

About 850 heads drawn from federal institution are in attendance of the 15 -day training.

“There is improvement in service provision but not to the satisfaction of the community,” Civil Service State Minister, Adamu Ayana, said while opening the training.

Hence, the two-week training would help bridge the gaps being witnessed in the provision of services at various institutions, he said.

Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael, Deputy Prime Minister for Finance and Economic Cluster and Minister of Communication and Information Technology, urged the trainees to realize the knowledge they would acquire from the training while returning to their respective institutions.

The training will focus on topics such as basic government policy documents, constitutional principles and role of civil servants, developmental state and its challenges, responsibilities of civil servants, among others.

Similar training would be given to 2,000 civil servants at the federal institutions in three rounds as well as to civil servants at regional levels in the near future, it was learnt.
