Diasporas face every challenge for success - EDA

Addis Ababa, 11 August 2014 (WIC) - The Ethiopian Diaspora Association (EDA) said that Ethiopian diasporas having taken different development activities in the country should work for success whatever obstacles they may face.

EDA president Dr. Ababu Minda indicated that the association is working with the government to solve problems the diasporas facing in their day to day activities here in Ethiopia.

Diasporas that are keen on to participate in different development activities in Ethiopia have asked the government to ease for them, obstacles including market connection, taxing, housing, for they become successful in their endeavors.

For the diasporas can contribute their share for the development of Ethiopia EDA has planned to open branch offices in different parts of the country to facilitate their investment activities, said EDA deputy president Dr. Alebachew Beyene.

It is estimated that 2.5 million Ethiopian diasporas live in different parts of the world.

The Ethiopian Diaspora Association, established in 2004 Ethiopian Calendar, has now 1,300 members.(ERTA)
