Enterprise distributing 8.5bln birr worth agricultural inputs

Addis Ababa, 10 July 2014 (WIC) - Agricultural Input Supply Enterprise (AISE) said agricultural inputs worth 8.5 billion birr are being distributed for the 2006/2007 crop season.

Enterprise Communication Directorate Director, Amarech Bekele, told WIC that the 840, 869 metric tons agricultural inputs currently under distribution were procured from home and abroad.

Organic fertilizer, vegetable seeds, herbicides, insecticide and NPS are among the agricultural inputs being distributed for farmers across the country, she said.

The agricultural inputs are being disbursed trough cooperative unions based in all beneficiary regional states, according to Amarech.

The Agricultural Input Supply Enterprise (AISE) is a governmental enterprise, engaged in importing and distributing mainly agricultural inputs.
