Agency endeavoring to tackle problems after privatization

Addis Ababa, 1 July 2014 (WIC) - Privatization and Public Enterprise Supervising Agency (PPESA) is undertaking various activities that enable to tackle problems that public enterprises face after privatization.
The agency here on Monday held a half-day discussion with stakeholders to review the successes and challenges faced during privatization process

The agency is making a reform on the rules and regulations and also planned to conduct a general study on the sector to solve the problems, Beyene Gebremeskel, director general of the agency, said.
The agency would work closely with stakeholders such as banks and revenues and customs authority to ease the difficulties that investors face after acquiring state owned enterprises

The director also evaluated the precautions taken to ensure job security of employees after privatization as successfully.
PPESA privatized 370 stated owned enterprises with over 19.8 bln birr during the past 19 years, it was learnt.
