Ethiopia opens Honorary Consulate in Oman

Addis Ababa, 18 June 2014 (WIC) - Ethiopia opened Honorary Consulate in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman.

Ethiopia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Yemen and non–resident Ambassador to Oman, Hassan Abdela, Ethiopians and Ethiopian born foreign citizens residing in Oman and high level officials of the country attended the opening ceremony.

Ambassador Hassan Abdela on the occasion noted that the opening of the Honorary Consulate will have a great role in strengthening political, economic and social ties between the two countries and to better avail services to Ethiopians while also underlining its benefits in safeguarding their interest.

Ambassador Hassan urged Omani investors to invest in Ethiopia taking advantage of the commendable investment climate.
He also promised to work with the Sultanate of Oman to elevate the Honorary Consulate to level of Embassy in the future.

Fahmy, Bin Seid Al Hanai, the Honorary Consul of Ethiopia on his part said that he will strive to promote trade and investment between the two countries. (MoFA)
