Ethiopia to Host Inter Africa Metrology System Plenum

Addis Ababa, 13 June 2014 (WIC) - The Inter Africa Metrology System (AFRIMETS) will hold its 8th General Assembly in Addis Ababa from 16-20 June 2014.

More than 60 participants from 22 European and African countries are expected to attend the general assembly.

National Metrology Technical Advisor, Mohammed Abdurahman, said the holding of the assembly in Ethiopia will help the bid of the country to become a member of AFRIMETS.

Besides, it would enable many Ethiopian professionals to participate in the assembly and acquire experience from the scientific papers that would be presented, he said.

The National Metrology Institute of Ethiopia was established to create metrology system compatible with international metrology system and bring about technology transfer. (ENA)
