Nation to mark 23rd anniversary of May 28 Victory Day tomorrow

Addis Ababa, 27 May 2014 (WIC) – The 23rd anniversary of May 28 Victory Day, which marks the demise of the Derg regime, will be celebrated colorfully tomorrow at a national level, according to event organizing committee.

According to a statement the committee sent to WIC, High level government officials, political and religious leaders, investors, academicians as well as residents ofAddis Ababa and its environs are expected to attend the event to be held at the Addis Ababa stadium.

Offices and institutions of the federal government and Addis Ababa city administration have celebrated the day through panel discussion, photograph exhibition, theater and musical show.

The discussion proved that the successes obtained in the past are the results of the joint efforts of the public and leaderships as well as the aptness of policies and strategies of the country.

During the discussion, a census was also reached with stakeholders to scale-up efforts to attain Ethiopia’s ongoing course for renaissance.
The committee finally called upon all dwellers of the city to attend the event to be observed at the Addis Ababa Stadium with various assortments.
