Addis Ababa, 27 May 2014 (WIC) – The Victory Day of Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities, May 28, has transformed Ethiopia into a new socioeconomic and political chapter, Deputy Prime Minister H.E Demeke Mokenen said.

In his exclusive interview with WIC, DPM Demeke said that May 28 so unique in the Ethiopian political history that ensured the equality of various nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia.

May 28 Victory Day is the day which opened the room for Ethiopia to regain the bases for its renaissance and past glory, he added.
The thriving of peace, reality of sustainable development and flourish of democracy in Ethiopia has significant roles deepen the benefits of nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia, he stated.

May 28 is a unique day that guaranteed the fundamental and democratic rights of nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia, the Deputy Premier said, adding that the participation and concern of the people of Ethiopia for political, economic and social development of the country has also risen.

The strong participation of the people and the tremendous efforts exerted by the government resulted in fast economic development, he added.

He reiterated that the people of Ethiopia are on a move to sustain the existing democracy, equality and development gained in the past 23 years.

The Deputy Premier also forwarded his appreciation for all martyred for their dedication which enabled the country to move in a right truck of peace, democracy development.
