Corporation urges employees to attain sugar dev’t target

Addis Ababa, 26 May 2014 (WIC) – The Ethiopian Sugar Corporation urged its employees to do their level best so as to attain the target set in the sugar development sector.
Employees of the corporation on Saturday marked the 23rd anniversary of May 28 Victory Day, which marks the downfall of the brutal Derg regime in 1991.

“Utmost efforts of workers of the corporation is key to attain Ethiopia’s vision to create a sustainable competitive sugar industry,” Corporation’s Director General, Shiferaw Jarso, said at the event.

The construction and expansion of 11 new sugar factories are underway in the country and employees of the corporation are expected to contribute their share for the successful completion of the factories, he said.
All Ethiopians should vow to ensure the sustainability of the ongoing economic growth of the country while marking the day to remember the martyrs, he added.

Discussion on sugar development and good governance activities carried out during the past 23 years was held at the event, it was learnt.
